Hunting season is in full swing. This guy has been coming around now and then and we're just waiting to see if he'll make it through another year.
August 2, 2009

Our "Big Boy" taking it easy. We assume he was one of our fawns a few years ago.
July 9, 2009

There were twins earlier and now there only seems to be one. This has us a bit worried, but such is the way of nature, I guess.

It's clear some of the deer are quite comfortable being here but they don't let us get close and we don't try to tame them. This shot is only possible because of a telephoto lens.

This doe and her fawns showed up right on time. These two seem smaller (younger) than we normally see. The mom was pretty relaxed and probably spent time sleeping on our lawn when she was little, so maybe she brought her fawns for a visit a little earlier than usual.

One of the triplets seems bolder than the others.
June 12, 2008

This fawn came trotting right over to see just what I was.
June 8, 2008

Our new arrivals for this year include these triplets.
August 2, 2007

"Oh, that feels so good."
August 2 , 2007

Double dipping.
June 13, 2007

The first fawn twins of the year showed up today and seemed fairly comfortable with being here.
June 13, 2007

"Look at those little guys. I remember being that little once," says a yearling.
June 13, 2007

"Wow! Look at EVERYTHING," says one of this year's fawns.
June 13, 2007

"Just remember little fawn, I'm going to be the boss of you."
July 25, 2006
Siesta time.
June 25, 2006
It's summer again and we have our normal new visitors. We are not sure yet
if there are just three or maybe five new fawns this year.
May 17, 2006
It's just too hot (100 degrees) to run through the forest today so this is a common sight on our front lawn.

We have been easily able to recognize "Flopsy" from the time she was a fawn.

As I look at her, she keeps a sharp eye on me.

A table for two please.

A table for one will be fine for me.
This guy must have been in a battle, but we don't know if he won or lost.
August 1, 2005

We had five new fawns this year.
May 25, 2005

Some of our regulars, relaxing in the shade.
July 18, 2003

The twins are so fun to watch.
July 22, 2003

Only one fawn in this family.
July 24, 2003

"Hey," she asks, "what are you doing?"
November 8, 2003

Just checking out the action.
