What if we had this great waterfall cascading down through the backyard?  So we got a quote.
"Oh, it would cost how much?"  Well, maybe we should scale down our dreaming a bit.

We picked a nice spot just beyond the back lawn, then ripped
out a few plants to make room, leaving something of a mess.

May 10, 2006

Our contractor (Gardens of Ecstasy), using some fill dirt and boulders, started creating a shape.

May 17, 2006

More rocks and boulders continue the design.  Uh, oh. I think
I need to finish the water and power lines pretty soon.

All done and ready for landscaping. Looks good but now we're thinking we would like to see more water.

So some additional fill and rock resulted in three more water levels.

We are very pleased with the extra levels and the additional action and sound they provide.

Some final shaping to hide the water pipe and to fill out the upper levels finishes off the construction.

All done now except for watching the various plants grow and add some more color and contrast.
The Gardens of Ecstasy crew did a superb job and we would recommend them to anyone.

The plants are about three years old now, and still growing. We've also made a number
of improvements to the reservoir and water system, which seem to be pretty stable now.
