Buckskin Mountain State Park, AZ

January 2007

This park is on the Arizona side of the Colorado River, south of Lake Havasu.

They seem to pretty much fill up daily and our first day was in the overflow area or the cabana parking lot.

The second day we were moved to a regular site with plenty of room.

The weather was cool to warm and it was quite pleasant to have finally escaped the deep freeze.

January 2011

It was a nice day so we decided to try out the Buckskin Trail.

It was a fairly steep but short climb to the top of the little mountain overlooking the park.

Then we crossed the highway and headed up into the hills.

Quite barren, dry and rough country.

So, we came from down there somewhere.

We eventually looped around and spotted the highway overpass heading back to the park.

We took this shot once the park came into sight again, then headed on down.
