The Tucson Area
(& the Desert Trails RV Park)

I was reading an article about photographing waterfalls and the author mentioned that waterfalls could be found in many areas, even in Tucson Arizona -- by visiting the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area, so since we were nearby, we decided to check it out.

Sabino Canyon would seem to appeal mostly to those inclined to hike the numerous trails and such hiking is required to get to the waterfalls. They also have a motorized tour that goes up the valley and over several very narrow bridges.  This picture was taken from the moving trolley and I shot it mainly because of the moon over the mountains but it does give a good sense of the surrounding countryside. As we had not come prepared for hiking, we simply rode the trolley up and back down again.

Desert Trails RV Park

January 13, 2011
We picked the Desert Trails RV Park based on reviews found online.  When we arrived, I gently squeezed into our spot, being careful to position our RV so as not bump our neighbor's rigs when we opened our slide outs.  In general we prefer somewhat roomier parks but sometimes the only way to know is to go look.

This is what we saw from our side RV window. We were hopeful our next stop would provide a better view.
