Lake Billy Chinook is on the Deschutes River near Culver, OR. It is down in a bit of a canyon with steep rocky sides. The whole lake is rather long and narrow, more like a wide deep river than a lake, which is actually what it really is.
You get the impression that this is mostly a boating lake, with several boat ramps plus the Cove Palisades Marina.
Wouldn't it be nice to rent a houseboat for a week? Sleeps up to 14 with five staterooms, full kitchen, TV and hot tub. Maybe we'll plan a vacation here some year, though as they say in Oregon, "It's a bit spendy."
Might be a nice place to spend some time not doing anything in particular.
