Griffin Park on the Rogue River in Oregon

Back to: Trips, Home

May 2008

We pretty much had the park to ourselves the day before and day after Memorial Day weekend but it never really felt crowded so we had a pleasant time camped in the "best" spot, closest to the river.

No need for a telephoto lens, as most of the boats stayed close to our side of the river..

You could hear them coming way up (or down) the river, then they would zip by giving you only a few seconds to try for a picture.

The race was down the river first then back up again with fewer boats left running on each pass.

Occasionally there was time to just enjoy the view.

Then here would come another one.
