September 2005:

The Bear Lake Big Creek campground is nice,
with full hookups and a sandy stretch heading down to the lake.

The lake is large and pleasant looking, though the view is a little barren.
When we started out for a beach walk, we discovered that you couldn't get
to the beach from the campground without walking through a big patch of thistles.

So we tried the big public use area where you can drive out on the beach,
which was very flat and very windy, though Shelby liked it well enough.
