Leavenworth, Washington
October 2005:
Home base was the Icicle River RV Resort
which is a very nice little park, right on the Icicle River.
Leavenworth was having their Oktoberfest celebration that coming weekend
so we had to be out by that Friday, as the park was all booked up.
We quickly turned to the internet to see what else might be available.
Leavenworth
is a great little "Bavarian Village" that makes you feel as if you are
in the Swiss Alps.
The main street is lined with a multitude of little shops of all sorts.
It is easy to spend several hours poking through them and, of course, having lunch.
The Leavenworth Oktoberfest looked to be very crowded in spite of the
forcasted rain,
so after wondering through the various shops we decided
to pass on the weekend celebration.
