I was realigning my band saw and sliced up a 2x4 just to test the blade. So then I had these nice strips of wood, so I decided to try using some of it for a little ornament scroll saw project. The wood was a little too thin and a little too soft so the piece came out kind of rough and was too fragile to smooth very well. Perhaps I'll give it another try with better wood. The deer, by the way, was derived directly from a photograph of one of "our" deer.
